Pete Howe and his brother, Jim, found a box of old rolls of 16mm film among his deceased mother’s belongings: She had saved her life for them and then, through them, for us. They projected them on a wall and shot them with a VHS camcorder. A few more yeas passed and Pete casually mentioned them to me. I was not that casual! He dropped them off and digitized and edited them. Aware that I had a document of historic value, all I did was arrange come clips into chronological order, clean them up as best I could, and edited them to some bluegrass music.
